Some friends and I gathered to head to Lewes (South of the UK) to view the spectacle that is bonfire night. We rented a 7 seater Soccer-Mum-mobile and headed for the town.
Our plan for the day:
- Park the Soccer-Mum-mobile in Lewes
- Take the train to Hassocks
- Walk across the South Downs (hill range)
- Have lunch in a Pub
- Watch the bonfire night in Lewes
- Return to London
We achieved most of our goals for the day. The lunch in the pub was a little meager (one bowl of wedges for 3 people) but the remainder of our goals were achieved 🙂
As it’s my Mum’s birthday today so this video is dedicated to her. Happy Birthday Mum!

The most common question is what gear did you take xxx with. I have taken the liberty of answering that here:
- Canon 5d Mark III
- Canon 24 – 105 f4
- Canon G7X
Rather than take photos of the event, this time I thought I would make a small video to remember the day. Here it is:
New Zealand travel photographer based in London, UK. He was taking photos from a very young age in the backcountry of New Zealand before moving abroad. Since doing so he has taken workshops and tried to help get as many people into this art as possible. Featured in NZ Herald, Stuff.co.nz and many photography publications it’s safe to say he loves his photography!
