I don't normally post photography news on my website but the latest news from Adobe has got me all excited. Adobe Lightroom 5 was released on June 10, 2013. Lightroom is at the heart of most serious photographer's workflows. If you are not familiar with Lightroom it is a the best image cataloging software. Lightroom is also a fantastic image viewer and easy editing suite. These edits are all non-destructive meaning they can always be undone. Today photographers everywhere have some exciting news!
Adobe has just released a brand new major release - Adobe Lightroom CC/Lightroom 6. There are many new features. These make it an exciting upgrade to photographers of all levels. Major changes include the following:
- Easily create HDR images
- Create superwide scenes with stunning panoramas
- Get faster performance
- Easily find photos of specific people with facial recognition
- Create video slide shows that include still images, music and effects
- Make HTML5-based web galleries
- Get better control of filters with the Filter Brush
As of right now the latest fill reatured version of Lightroom - Adobe Lightroom CC is included as part of the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription. It is also available as a standalone purchase named Lightroom 6. The standalone version doesn't have the mobile editing advantages like the CC version does. But, the major changes (listed above) are included. You can buy it when you scroll right to the bottom of the page.
